Sing that funky music white boy...

OK, we picked up Karaoke Revolution Party a week ago and had a Karaoke party this past weekend. It was a blast!
I think everyone had a good time and even the guys who said they couldn't sing or really didn't want to sing went ahead and stood up and did at least 1 song. Kudos to them! I think that's what Karaoke is all about, not worrying if you can sing well, but just getting over your inhibitions and getting up there in front of people and belting out a song and having fun.
My wife checked out an LCD projector from her office and we projected the game on one wall of our family room and the image was about 8 ft X 6 ft... pretty nice.
My co-worker Chris scored a perfect 50,000 on Dust in the Wind and over the course of the evening a number of platinum and gold records were scored unlocking all kinds of stuff.
Casualties for the evening: 9 MGD's, 4 Miller Lites, 1 Pumpkin Ale, 4 Hard Ciders, Half a bottle of Yellowtail Cabernet and a bunch of sodas. Not bad for 10 people.
Highlight of the evening was the guys performing either "Material Girl" or "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman". Only regret of the evening- we didn't break out Duet mode. Oh well, all the better reason to have ANOTHER Karaoke Party in January! Also it was fun to see who was more musically inclined, sometimes it was surprising!
So if you have Karaoke Revolution and you haven't hosted a Karaoke party... I recommend it. Great way to have some fun with your friends!
YAY! Karaoke parties are the best! I've only had impromptu Karaoke parties, when people were already lubed up and stuff. So you give Karaoke Revolution Party a thumbs up, that's good. Now I know what to ask for for X-mas. I already own 1, 2, and 3. 3 is my favorite because of the duets. YAY!

It was interesting throwing a Karaoke Party because of my friends I was wondering who would show up. A number said they'd come if they didn't have to sing (and I told them that's fine, but you can't trash talk my singing unless you sing). Some of them showed up and they actually DID sing.
There were some surprises as to who among my friends were pretty good singers too. You just don't know until they start crooning.
Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday! I'm 11 whole days older than you.
Oh wow! Happy Belated birthday to you too. Funny story regarding my birthday. It's quick.
So, I woke up on my birthday day and was lazing in bed half asleep. And I thought to myself, "Hey! It's my birthday today. I'm 20? I'm 20???? I'm 2O, wholy crap I'm 36!!!" I really thought I was still in my 20's there for a few seconds. I guess that's a good sign. HA!
I love Karaoke parties. Had a small one when I got the new game, had fun unlocking stuff. Still can't get my eye-toy to make our faces as a character.. grr. arrgh.. Tried swaping the disc, no dice... I think our PS2 is the culprit. Gonna try it over a friend's house and see if it works there, then I'll know for sure.
I have learned I can't dance and sing at the same time! Must work on this! LOL!

My friend tried to scan his face in but we had no luck either. I may experiment with it, but it's not that important to me.
I haven't hooked up the dance pad to try that yet... I suck at the DDR...
